We recently took a little spur of the moment drive up to Manitou Lake. It only took about 40 minutes to get there and the drive was very scenic. Here’s another link. It was $5 to park but there are restrooms and the place is well maintained. We just laid on a blanket and read awhile. It was pretty [...] Because you’re looking for more ways to spend money, and because you’re in Colorado, you probably need to give fly fishing a try. And though I’m only a beginner, I’m pretty happy with the fishing available in the Deckers area, only about an hour or so from Colorado Springs. The first thing for a wannabe fly [...] I am still irritated that I waited so long to bring my tomato plants out to the junkyard where there’s full sun. I liked them so much on the deck! Anyhow, they totally kicked ass in the past month. They’re huge, even the ones I started from seeds. There are a few tomatoes and lots [...] So despite the crazy weather (it poured down rain like mad about 2 minutes after I took this picture) And the rain every single afternoon and evening. We decided to go camping on DMs three-day weekend last week. We took almost the entire day on Wednesday getting ready to go. Towards the end of the planning and [...] This weekend we went all the way across the state to do some camping, wine tasting, and hiking. It was fun! We took I70 which goes all the way up to 12,000 feet in elevation. I didn’t get as much altitude sickness as I usually do, so yay. We went thru the mile and a half [...] |
