Mike has been posting about all the home improvement projects he’s been up to, but he’s left a few of them out.
I had my Weber gas grill shipped from LA and it arrived in about a million little pieces.

It only took a couple hours and he had it all back together!

All done!

Meanwhile, I had a Woodchuck pear cider. It was ok. There are others I like better.

And fixed some white bean and chicken “chili” which was really more like just a stew because it wasn’t that hot or spicy. Although you could adjust the heat however you want. It was really, really good, even just as is. The recipe came from Better Homes and Gardens.

You remember when Mike hung the new chandelier? Well, of course the ceiling underneath was all creepy and gross. So he fixed it. Then he had to paint it.

Then we decided since the ceiling looked all nice and new, that the walls also needed painting.
We tried a bunch of yellows, oranges, and tangerines. But I had just been to L.A. and gone to a cafe called Recess for lunch and their color scheme was light blue and white and I just really liked it so we grabbed a blue color tester and eventually that’s what we decided on.

While he did that, I made egg salad sandwiches. Yum.

After lunch, Mike decided to fix the dishwasher racks. A professional dishwasher repairman told us about this spray-on plastic stuff that you can use to recoat the racks where the original plastic has come off and it’s started to rust. I guess it worked pretty well. It’s no longer scary.

Mike has been obsessed with the hockey playoffs that his favorite team The Montreal Canadiens, are in. They aren’t doing so well, be he continues to hold out hope.

While Mike watched the game.

And changing out the air filter in my car.

Finally, the other day I made a tasty oatmeal concoction.
Steel cut oats co0oked with regular oats, walnuts, brown sugar, and vanilla extract, then topped off with blackberries and half and half. YUM!
