Rico’s at Poor Richard’s is a little cafe and wine bar on Tejon St. in downtown Colorado Springs. It’s separated from Poor Richard’s Restaurant by a toy store but you can access them both and can order from each menu and sit wherever you want. Poor Richard’s is more of a restaurant with a big huge menu board, brick walls, etc. Rico’s is more of a low key bar/cafe with dimmer lighting and smaller tables.
We usually go to Rico’s. Sometimes we sit inside, sometimes out on the back patio, and sometimes on the sidewalk cafe area. They have all sorts of fancy wines, and they sell them in 3 oz. as well as the usual 6 oz. glasses which is really great if you don’t want to drink too much or if you want to try a few different wines from their extensive list. They also have a few beers and some cocktails. Happy Hour is 4-6 Sunday -Wednesday.

They have really good coffee drinks, teas, an iced tea bar, and hot chocolates. Recently I had one of their spiked espresso drinks with vanilla vodka and chocolate liquor. Yum! I really like the fact that it’s a bar and a cafe. So if one of you wants a drink and one just wants a coffee, you can do that here. On weekends they also have live music.

They also have a really good food menu with salads, sandwiches, soups, and pastas. You can also get snacks like hummus, chips and salsa, nachos, and cheese trays. And you can order pizza off the Poor Richard’s menu. The hummus is the best in town! Last week I rode my bike down to have some lunch, a glass of wine, and to get some work done. They have free wi-fi.

Great atmosphere, great food and drink choices, live music, plus it’s connected to a bookstore and a toy store!
