We had a few visitors this summer, which was fun.
Here are some highlights.
My parents came in early June. Here they are at Pizzeria Rustica.
We went to The Broadmoor for my mom's birthday and saw this deer chowing down on the pretty potted plants.
My dad and Mike did some work on the bathroom, fixed the sink, and added this beadboard panelling.
They had to move the upper molding so the beadboard would fit.
In June my cousin Erica and her boyfriend Teddy stayed overnight on their way across the country. They enjoyed the odd tasting water in all the Manitou springs.
We played Ski-Ball at the vintage arcade in Manitou.
You always have to pose on one of the kid's rides.
And at the art installation at Colorado College.
We had lunch at Arabica downtown.
Dinner and drinks at Shuga's.
And breakfast at Paris Crepe.
We also had a visit from Mike's daughter Tori.
We went river rafting on The Arkansas, then stopped at our fave, Big Burger World in Canon City.
While Tori was here, Mike's friend Andrew also showed up.
We all went camping at ElevenMile.
Then Mike and Andrew went bar hopping downtown.
My parents came again last week and of course we went to Shuga's.
We also went to Breckenridge to look at fall leaves. We had drinks and snacks at Ember, which was really good.

Dad helped us pull out some cabinets so we could install our new (vintage) stove and get it all working.
Residential archeology! I love finding old pieces of house history. This is most likely original asbestos flooring circa 1910. We pulled it up on this side but left a little on the other side.
Making progress on the temporary kitchen.
Time for some coffee on the porch.
Then Mike and my dad worked on making a gate in the fence. Oddly, we had a wide driveway that went to nowhere. Now we can pull the trailer into the back yard.
Mom and Cookie Puss.
We did some driving around to look at other neighborhoods besides downtown (why!?) and came across a neighborhood where tons of deer were hanging out. It was like a deer sanctuary. There were literally probably 50 of them on a two block stretch.
Then we went to The Broadmoor and had cocktails by the lake at sunset.
