La Baguette, Old Colorado City, Colorado Springs

There are several La Baguette’s in Colorado Springs (actually I think there are four but we’ve only been to the downtown and Old Colorado City locations). My favorite so far is the one in Old Colorado City.

I’ve been a couple times before just for coffee but recently I’ve been a few more times and am more and more impressed each time. A few weeks ago Janel and I wanted to meet for coffee in OCC. When we got there, she decided she was hungry. I wanted coffee, she wanted food, so La Baguette seemed to fit the bill. They close at 6:00 and it was like 5:55. We peeked in the window and started to walk away when someone came over and told us we could come in, it was ok. We told them we wanted to eat and they said it was fine. They even let us stay after they officially closed and the manager (owner?) went home. She instructed us to stay as long as we wanted and when we were ready to leave to go get one of the bakers to let us out. I love businesses that love money!

Recently Mike and I went back. I first had a delicious almond croissant and a cafe latte.

This quiche was really really good. And crustless! I’m going to try and make crustless quiche one of these days. Look at the lovely salad and tasty fresh grapes it came with. I do NOT like the salad dressing at the La Baguette downtown but the salad dressing at this location is perfect.

Mike had his fave, French onion soup, along with a turkey and swiss croissant sandwich that also came with those yummy grapes.
