We recently took a little spur of the moment drive up to Manitou Lake. It only took about 40 minutes to get there and the drive was very scenic. Here’s another link. It was $5 to park but there are restrooms and the place is well maintained. We just laid on a blanket and read awhile. It was pretty [...] So, the hail shelter had a couple of design flaws but they were easily fixed. First of all, it was really hard to put the top frame on with one person. And secondly, the duct tape just didn’t stay and the plastic came off the frame. So, I decided to use clamps instead. Now the plastic stays [...] It is very hit or miss growing tomatoes up here at 6300 feet. Some years I’ve done it, no problem, other years, nothing. I am determined to get a system in place that will give me great tomatoes every year! One of the things we deal with here is is a really short growing season. [...] So, one place we go all the time but hardly ever talk about is Rico’s Cafe and Wine Bar- it’s part of Poor Richard’s. You know, the bookstore, toy store, and restaurant downtown. Latte from Poor Richards/Ricos, Colorado Springs They have all kinds of sandwiches, salads, and pizzas. Their pizza is really good.
